Overview

Sheathing materials forming the exterior envelope assembly of a building with light-frame wood or steel walls, must be specified to resist to out-of-plane wind loads (positive and negative/suction pressures). Building codes specify these requirements for various sheathing materials. Wind resistance of FPIS is not required where placed under or over a separate sheathing material capable of resisting wind loads.
